Iconic portraits are for sure a focus, from film, music and sport. The aim is to impart the character and energy of subjects, and create as 3D as possible with several techniques combining for the end effect, almost exploding off the board panels. Facial features and musculature are actually carved out of oil paint so instead of just painting a shadow, it also creates its own. The full effect is unfortunately dampened with online images - but please contact the studio if you'd like to know where pieces can be seen in the flesh, with galleries holding work all over the UK including Manchester, Birmingham and London.

Several officially licensed character projects coming up too in 2011, following Bruce Lee, Star Trek and Ali works recently released.
